Job Title: Social Workers
Employment Type: Contract Work Hours: 37.5 hrs./week
Work site: 100% Onsite Location: 2834 Route 17M, New Hampton, NY Job Duration: 2 Years
Closing: 05/17/2024. Minimum Education: - Master's degree in social work
Work Experience: - Licensed Master Social Worker 2 with experience in a psychiatric or forensic setting preferred.
Job Duties: - Completion and maintenance of medical record documentation within designated time-frames.
- Participation in assigned meetings: Treatment plan meetings (including 730/330 rounds), Daily morning rounds, Therapeutic Community Meetings, Case Reviews, Incident debriefings in the absence of the Program Coordinator/Treatment team leader.
- Facilitation of clinical groups during the day, as well as provision of individual therapy to assigned patients.
- Securing and maintaining the Record of Arrest and Prosecution information.
- Securing collateral information from various sources.
- Maintaining ongoing contact with patients' families and significant others, assisting families in finding support services, and engaging families in the treatment process.
- Securing approval for children visitation, special visitation requests, and notifying necessary staff. Coordinating electronic visitation and family participation in treatment team meetings.
- Participation in the facility's annual Family Day, quarterly Family Educational meetings, Annual CORE curriculum training, and in-service programming.
- ssisting patients with case management tasks, including coordinating the Advance Directives process (e.g., Health Care Proxy).
- Training and supervising entry-level Social Work staff and student interns.
- Participation on various hospital committees.
Preferred Skills: - Experience in a forensic psychiatric setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- bility to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing mental health treatment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Misc. Information: - Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
